What are Faculty Mentoring Networks?

Faculty mentoring networks are:

• Online groups, typically 10-15 faculty members
• Focused on a specific topic or material
• Typically meet every two weeks over a period of several months
• Led by teams of expert content and pedagogy mentors

What are the benefits of participating in a faculty mentoring network?

• Interact with colleagues across the country who are teaching similar courses
• Discover new teaching materials and incorporate them into your course with hands-on help from experts
• Learn about new pedagogical techniques proven to be effective in the classroom
• Become more comfortable incorporating quantitative content into your biology courses
• Provide evidence of your professional development to your department and/or tenure committee
