Reference reading (with a variety of biological examples) used for a Discrete Math Modeling course. If session participants are interested in a particular application, please let me know (email me at bodinee at rhodes dot edu) and I will make sure to address that application during the session.
If you are interested in applying for the Discrete Faculty Mentoring Network (FMN) which will further build on these ideas, please follow the provided link.

A collection of resources to use in the classroom. Includes materials for students and for educators as well as additional resources.
A complete understanding of evolution requires knowledge that spans many biological sub-disciplines. However, students are often taught evolution in the context of ecological systems and isolated from genetic and cellular ones. To address this issue, we have developed case studies that track the evolution of traits from their origination in DNA mutation, to the production of different proteins, to the fixation of alternate macroscopic phenotypes in reproductively isolated populations.
This post contains some of the links that were mentioned in Dr. Paul Beardsley's presentation on HHMI BioInteractive resources. This is not a comprehensive list, we encourage you to explore the BioInteractive website (http://www.hhmi.org/biointeractive) to see what else you can find!

DryadLab is the education focused component of the Dryad Digital Repository. They have developed education modules that bring authentic research data into the classroom. The original modules can be found at https://qubeshub.org/groups/dryadlab/resources. QUBES and DryadLab have also partnered to offer two Faculty Mentoring Networks. The faculty participants have shared their adaptations and extensions to the modules on QUBES (https://qubeshub.org/groups/dryadlab/collections).
