The 2019 Digital Pedagogy lab institute is just finishing up today. I had to miss it this year, but I have attended this amazing institute a couple of times in the past and I highly recommend it.  One of the tracks that was taught was on Inclusive Design by Kevin Gannon. Below is a link to a description and some of the readings. The readings may contain useful vocabulary and ideas that could be used for building an ontology. (Participants in the track are developing manifestos for Inclusive design, you can see some of them at the #digped hashtag on twitter).

I also highly recommend following Kevin on twitter-  @TheTatooedProf

I think those of us in STEM can learn a great deal from our humanities colleagues, his presentations and writing include

    • Race, history, diversity and inclusion; Anti-Racism
    • Critical and Inclusive Pedagogy in secondary and higher education

I've been following it on twitter! thanks for sharing the link..

I've been at DEAF ROC yesterday and today - it's a every other year conference (generally here in Rochester) and this year's theme is 'Navigating Deaf Hearing Collaborations in Science.'  It also serves to bring together deaf and hard of hearing scientists from all over the country to meet each other and present their research.  The hashtag is #deafscientists and the website is (in case anyone wants to follow or read anything by the keynote presenters) - https://www.urmc.rochester.edu/deaf-roc.aspx
