Atlanta Airport to Courtyard Atlanta Decatur Downtown
Uber/Lyft: Pick-up and drop-off for rideshare services are not immediately outside the airport. Follow signs for Rideshare (which will take you to the lower level and through the North terminal's economy parking deck) to the designated area. This will be an estimated $35-45 per ride. (Directions from the AJC: To get to the Rideshare Pickup Zone, walk through Terminal North baggage claim, then take an escalator down to the lower level. Exit out to the curbside and follow orange signs into the parking deck, turn left at the sign and follow the path. Request a ride after arriving at the pickup zone.)
Public transit: Follow signs for MARTA Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson Domestic Terminal. You should be able to purchase a MARTA card at this area. If you plan on using MARTA transit for all transport, it is worthwhile to purchase a transit card with up to 10 rides populated on the card. Each ride is $2.50, and the cost of the card is $1.00, so the total for the transit card is $26.00.
- Take the red/gold lines to Five Points station
- Transfer to an Eastbound Blue line towards Indian Creek
- Disembark at Decatur Station
- Walk north on Church Street towards East Ponce de Leon Ave
- Turn right on Claremont Ave, and Courtyard Decatur will be on your left!
Courtyard Decatur to Emory University (Atwood Building)
Uber/Lyft: From the hotel to Emory, a rideshare service would cost approximately $10-15 per trip and will take about 10-15 minutes.
Public transit (MARTA): Bus 36 picks up passengers at the southwest corner of the Commerce Drive and Claremont Ave junction (facing Commerce Drive), just a short walk north of the hotel. Disembark at N. Decatur Rd and Dowman Drive NE (at the Emory Village roundabout). From here, it is a short walk to Atwood Chemistry Building. The trip takes about 25 minutes in total (and costs $2.50 with the MARTA transit card).
Public transit (Emory Shuttle): The CCTMA shuttle operates every 30 minutes (beginning at 5:00 a.m.) and will pick up at the Decatur MARTA station. The best drop off point is the 8th stop, opposite Emory Hospital. From here, it is a 5-10 minute walk to Atwood Chemistry Building. This is a free shuttle service to and from Emory.
