Spreading COVID Vaccine Confidence: Exploring sources and remedies for COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy and mistrust

Welcome to the online home of "Exploring sources and remedies for COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy and mistrust," a fully online event hosted by the NC State Biotechnology Program. The  interactive panel of COVID and public health experts and group discussions will take place on Tuesday, June 22nd from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM EDT. The event also includes asynchronous opportunities to learn, ask questions, and interact with other participants and organizers before and after the live discussion. Participation in all the synchronous and asynchronous components is strongly encouraged, as full participation will help make the event more empowering for our communities. See the Schedule tab at the left of this page for more specifics. Note that this page and group site are living resources. Check back often for updates and opportunities to engage.

Event Description

During this highly interactive event, we'll explore the sources of COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy including medical and governmental mistrust, as well as concrete strategies we can take as individuals within our communities to increase public confidence in COVID-19 vaccination. The event includes opportunities to:

  • Learn the science behind the COVID-19 vaccines through materials shared in the Collections
  • Ask questions, discuss related topics, and share resources and strategies in the Forums
  • Hear from a panel of experts on how to communicate about vaccines during the live webinar
  • Develop and practice strategies for communicating COVID vaccine confidence in real-life situations through structured small and large group discussions during the webinar
