We are excited to invite you to a new community of learning exploring Open Pedagogy in STEM. Participants in this Learning Community will explore and discuss benefits, actionable strategies, and challenges to implementing Open Pedagogy, including socially-just pedagogical approaches. Pre-session work and session mini-workshops and discussions will focus on exploring Open pedagogy attributes where we create learning spaces that include (but not limited to):

  • creating a community where all voices are valued

  • providing opportunities for autonomy and agency

  • fostering collaboration both within and outside the learning space

  • promoting a  culture of peer-review

  • encouraging reflective practice

This 6-week Learning Community series is facilitated by Dr. Carlos Goller and Dr. Melanie Lenahan and supported by Dr. Kaitlin Bonner (on behalf of RIOS Institute). Shared discussions, implementation strategies, and resources from these sessions will be used to build and create new curated materials to provide you success strategies as you move beyond this workshop. In the true spirit of Open, registration to participate in this Learning Community is free and all are welcome to join. However, registration is required to ensure that you have access to all of the session materials and resources.

  • Meeting times: Wednesdays, 2:00-3:30 pm (EST)

  • Dates: October 5th - November 9th

  • Registration is due by October 3rd
