Registration for SABER West (January 19/20, 2019) is now officially open!

Part of the registration process will include selecting workshops, and we highly encourage you to register early to make sure you get your top choices. Additionally, poster abstracts can be submitted during the registration process (all poster abstracts will be accepted). Rates for early registration (by November 15th) are as follows:

  • 4-year faculty, staff, administrators - $115
  • 2-year faculty, staff, administrators - $65
  • Post docs, Graduate students and Undergraduates - $65

For SABER West, we are using a two-step registration system (google form/credit card payment).  You must complete both to be registered for the meeting.  Both links can also be found on the registration tab of the website.

For the first time, we will also have optional Friday workshops, one focused on Gaining Buy-In and Recognition for Biology Education Researchers at Community Colleges and a second on R for Novice Education Researchers. More information on these can be found on the Friday Workshops tab of the website (

And for those traveling out of town, we encourage you to reserve your hotel rooms as soon as possible, ( These rooms will be held until December 14th or until sold out.

The abstract submission process for SABER West 2019 is now live. We are looking for individuals interested in submitting abstracts for talks or workshops, as well as those willing to assist in abstract review.
1. If you are willing to serve as an abstract reviewer, please complete the following Google form: by August 8th. Reviews of abstracts will begin after September 17th, and you will have two weeks to complete your reviews.
2. The abstract guidelines for both talks and workshops is now available on the SABER West 2019 website ( This year, we will be using the same CMT system as the annual SABER meeting. The CMT system will be live shortly, and the link will be on the abstract submission tab of the SABER West 2019 website. Abstract submissions are due September 17th at 5 pm (PST).
