QIIMES and Pipes
QIIMES and Pipes is a working group branching from the 2016 National Academies Special Topics Summer Institute on Quantitative Biology. This group is working specifically with:
1) Metagenome Analyses Choices
a. What can QIIME do?
b. Coding platform to introduce people to:
i. Coding
ii. What does analysis mean?
iii. What tools to use?
c. What gene to use?
i. CytB for plants.
ii. Co1 for animals
iii. 16s for Bacteria, 18s for fungi, INT(?)
d. Pipes instead of QIIME?
i. G-CAT? Cyverse?
2) Jump in Jupyter: Activities and Teaching – Ways to reach out with classroom materials. Way to make active classroom activities on processing and interpreting data
a. Visualizing Coding
b. Understanding what 16s analysis is actually doing
c. Galaxy, Remote Clusters, Analysis on Galaxy? G-CAT? Cyverse?
3) Extensions:
