The Biological Collections Ecology and Evolution Network – fostering undergraduate scientific exploration using natural history specimen data.

BCEENET brings together natural history collections professionals, undergraduate educators, data experts, and researchers to support the development and implementation of Course-based Undergraduate Research Experiences (CUREs) using digitized natural history collections (dNHC) data. BCEENET provides training, funding, curriculum materials, and ongoing support for faculty who implement dNHC CUREs. Since 2020, BCEENET members have brought research experiences to over 3800 undergraduates!

We are also embarking on an assessment project to examine the impacts of dNHC CUREs and to create a mentored conference experience for CURE students. Faculty who implement a BCEENET CURE will be invited to participate!

If you are interested in learning more, about our organization or the CUREs, please join the group, subscribe to our mailing list, or contact us at bceenetwork@gmail.com
