  • Week of 11/06: Virtual Kick-Off Workshop (1 hour)
    Asynchronous activity: Determine the biological topic for which you will develop a module; identify an existing data set or one the students will collect as an entry point to developing a model
  • Week of 11/13: Synchronous Meeting 1 (1 hour)
    Asynchronous activity: Generate any lecture notes, slides, or reading material necessary for presenting the module to the students
  • Week of 11/27: Synchronous Meeting 2 (1 hour)
    Asynchronous activity: Generate a description of the student assignment/lab (and any quiz/exam questions)
  • Week of 12/04: Synchronous Meeting 3 (1 hour)
    Asynchronous activity: Generate a rubric for assessment of the student assignment/lab (and quiz/exam questions)
  • Week of 01/15: Synchronous Meeting 4 (1 hour)
    Asynchronous activity: Implementation of the developed module (timing of this during the semester will vary for participants); Write a reflection of what went well and what could be improved/changed
  • TBA: Synchronous Meetings 5 - 7 (1 hour each)
    During each of these meetings participants will share their reflections on how the implementation of these module went and the group will discuss how the module could be changed/improved/adapted. These meetings will be scheduled based on the timing of the implementation of the modules.
    Asynchronous activity: Make revisions to all materials generated for the module and post in the module's project page in the Discrete FMN QUBES group for feedback from the group.
  • TBA (May-ish): Synchronous Meeting 8 (1 hour)
    Discussion of further dissemination of developed modules: publish as a Resource on QUBES, publish as an education article in Letters in Biomathematics, present at BioQuest 2018 or BEER 2018
    Asynchronous activity: Publish finalized modules as a Resource on QUBES; develop a plan for publishing or presenting module for further dissemination
