Description
Biobytes are short activities that help groups engage with data science principles and practices. These four activities were used during a series of 30 minute large group session at the 2019 BioQUEST / QUBES Summer Workshop titled, “Evolution of Data in the Classroom: From Data to Data Science”.
The initial collection of biobytes includes activities designed to be used with undergraduate faculty to facilitate the collaborative exploration of the intersection of data science and undergraduate biology education.
Biobyte 1 - Where are we in the data science landscape?
Biobyte 2 - Exploratory data analysis
Biobyte 3 - Lab reports as reproducible research
Biobyte 4 - The role of data science principles and practices in undergraduate biology education
There is a discussion forum here where you are encouraged to share ideas for how to use these materials, make them better, and build new biobytes.
If you have comments, questions, or suggestions please feel free to contact Sam Donovan
