Description
This resource includes a final report for the BLUE working group from the Biome Institute 2020. Our team worked to develop materials, and generate ideas, to facilitate implementing a CURE experience using digital data resources from natural history collections. Our materials address several resource needs and fill gaps in educational materials instructors can use to guide students through research with Natural History Collections. Materials include modules on: citing digital data resources, traditional ecological knowledge, using digital data resources, the use of modeling in biology, niche modeling and climate predictions, using R for natural history collection data, using R for taxonomy, and inferential statistics. We also made progress towards the development of an assessment that can be used across CUREs to assess biodiversity data acumen.
