Description

We share our experiences implementing principles of Ungrading in a variety of biology and biochemistry classes. We range from community college to universities, small to large sections, lectures to labs. Some of us have been moving towards these principles for several quarters (or even years), some started Fall 2021, and one person will be implementing in the future. All of us are dealing with pandemic stress, so the main motivation for change is helping the students gain confidence and agency over their own learning, with iterations and feedback from their instructors. We will be working on a manuscript to capture our experiences to share with other biology instructors.
