Publishing Conference Materials on QUBES

In this session,  BioQUEST staff will show how to publish conference materials, presentations, workshops, and teaching materials with BioQUEST. This tool is a great way to make them accessible to others, document your scholarship, and build your resume. The QUBES OER Library has a variety of examples including workshops, posters, and other conference materials.

What can BIOME do for your Project?

In this session, BioQUEST staff will give a short presentation about how our partner groups can participate in the BIOME Institute and how that participation can benefit your group. We’ll hear from past participants about their experiences and advice. We’ll also discuss our community goals for BIOME 2022, the theme of which is IDEAS (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Accessibility in STEM Classrooms).

OER for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in STEM Classrooms

In this session, we will be discussing teaching resources related to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, featuring a few resources listed in this month’s Community Spotlight. BioQUEST staff will give a brief introduction to using QUBES collections and our inclusive teaching ontologies to find and organize resources on these themes, and a few of the authors will be in attendance to talk about their resources. We encourage participants to bring DEI resources to share in our collection on QUBES!

An Introduction to CourseSource - January 27, 2022

In this webinar, BioQUEST staff and CourseSource Managing Editor Erin Vinson will give a brief overview of CourseSource, a journal of evidence-based teaching resources for undergraduate biology and physics. We’ll give a tour of the CourseSource pages on QUBES, with special attention to using collections to keep track of articles that interest you. After the short presentation there will be ample time to ask questions about publishing your teaching resources with the journal.
