This activity is broken into multiple mini-activities that encourage group work and working individually. Although the content of the article and data being graphed is based on mimicry, students do not need background knowledge in the subject. Rather, this exercise is used by students to help them identify what they don’t know about a graph and address how to fix it. Two of the mini activities are required groupwork (groups between 2-5 students), the next two activities can be assigned as homework and reconvened in groups (or done in groups or individually the entire time), and the final mini-activity is for students to work individually on their new graphs.
