In this lesson students 1) become familiar with various graphs that are used to study diversity patterns within and across sites, 2) learn about some of the questions that can be addressed by metabarcoding studies, and 3) reflect on an interview with evolutionary ecologist Maria Rebolleda Gomez, who collected the data used in the lesson.

I've just spent about 15 minutes reviewing this lesson as part of a BIOME workshop. What a great set of resources. I'm particularly interested in the jigsaw activity interpreting the various graphs. I'm hoping that the concrete research context and narrative about the development of the experiment will help students connect with the concept of biodiversity and the metrics used to quantify it. Thanks for sharing this.

I am wondering about making a complementary activity that also looks at how we categorize biodiversity - thinking about it from more than just a western science perspective and especially to combat the top down (human) perspective of categorization

I am looking for resources to make the biological diversity part of intro bio course stronger. I need more time to look through the different parts of this module
