Description
An outline and example of a semester-long class CURE. This lab is done in an upper-division cell biology class. The class has two labs with 15-20 students in each lab. Students work in groups of 4-5 to design their class research project. The class meets 3 hours a week, but students routinely do experiments outside the lab time. Student groups are in charge of all aspects of maintaining their cells. Once trained, students are allowed into the lab without supervision. All doors have a card swipe electric lock and recorded entry and exits. The lab outline details how the class is organized and what is discussed each week.
