Description

Examining sea turtle populations may seem very abstract to non-science majors.  This case study will provide students with the opportunity to understand sea turtles, what role they play in an ecosystem, their complex life cycle, and understanding population data.  This case study will also enable students to think about field work and the problems they might face.  This will allow students to work in a group to brainstorm answers to questions once they have received the background information on the case study.  Then students will look at two graphs and answer questions based on the data.

Notes

This is a brief exercise to help non-science majors understand population distributions and graphs, as well as the use of field work.
