In this classroom activity, students are introduced to the genetics of sickle cell disease by a short film The Making of the Fittest: Natural Selection in Humans . A classroom handout guides students through a series of questions relating the information presented in the film to Mendelian genetics, probability, pedigree analysis, and chi-squared statistics.
