RIE2 Resources

Link to our resources for inclusive evolutionary education resources. The resource database is updated monthly

We are compiling a resource for inclusive undergraduate evolutionary biology education. The goals of our repository are to:

  • improve and deepen understanding of evolutionary concepts (e.g., genetic essentialism; Donovan 2022)

  • provide a central repository of science communication and educational tools

  • increase accessibility of teaching resources

  • improve and innovate teaching strategies to combat misuse of evolutionary concepts

  • examine and dismantle the eugenic and settler-colonial underpinnings of the field (ex. O’Brien et al. 2020, Kamath et al. 2022)

  • highlight diverse researchers engaging with these concepts as part of their work to improve social belonging of students from systemically excluded backgrounds (Criser and Knott 2019, Padayachee et al. 2018, Patterson Silver Wolf et al. 2021, Jimenez et al. 2019)

To aid in this effort, we request the community to share existing resources that align with our goals by filling out this form: https://forms.gle/QNscFQkuFznMhTMH6. Additionally, we request any teaching materials > 10 Mb to be sent to inclusive.evoedu@gmail.com
