  • Biography
I am a broadly trained ecologist with a focus on wildlife ecology. My doctoral work sought to address movement patterns of black bear in relation to moose calves in Alaska. Moving to liberal arts colleges in the northeast afforded me the opportunity to develop my pedagogical skills and research agenda to involve students in research. I adapted my doctoral research question from pulsed moose prey for bear and wolves (predator guild) to pulsed hard mast and the small mammal seed predators. Recent research includes field and molecular surveys of Lyme disease, turtle demographic and home range studies using mark-recapture radio-telemetry techniques, microplastic pollution in Lake Champlain food webs and wastewater treatment plant processing, remote camera monitoring of wildlife, smartphone app development for monitoring roadkill, as well as many other citizen science endeavors. Most importantly I am a mom to the two cutest little boys!
