Mekdelawit Massay Deribe is passionate about the science, governance, diplomacy of water, and is engaged water science researcher with a deep commitment to understanding and addressing water challenges. With experience in water and climate science communication, Mekdelawit engaged in over 200 media and public interactions and am building a robust publication record.
In this episode, Mekdelawit discusses the path to her doctoral work and the evolution of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam project. We discuss the aspects of her journey that led to her current work and the value of being in service of your why. Mekdelawit is from Addis Ababa Ethiopia and is pursuing doctoral studies in Earth and Environmental Sciences at Florida International University. She is also an Edward Bouchet doctoral scholar.
