Jacqueline Cala has an Ed.D. with an emphasis in Adult Learning from Grand Canyon University. Her dissertation focused on students' motivation and reasoning to accept or reject controversial science topics. She also has an M.S. in Biology and her thesis was on tumor immunology. She has been a biology faculty member at Chandler-Gilbert Community College since 2018 and primarily teaches biology for non-majors. She continues to collaborate with colleagues across the nation to conduct Biology Education Research to understand effective teaching and learning strategies in higher education biology classrooms.
