About Teaching and CourseSource
Audrey Chen Lew is an Assistant Professor of Teaching in the Department of Neurobiology and Behavior at the University of California, Irvine (UCI). Her research seeks to develop and validate assessment tools to evaluate learning of core concepts, to identify best practices for effective instructor feedback, and to evaluate the effectiveness of curriculum in teaching current laboratory technology. Prior to joining the faculty at UCI, she was a visiting assistant professor at the Claremont Colleges. Supported by HHMI, she led undergraduate researchers to examine the neuroimmunological regulation of sleep using genetic tools available in zebrafish. She is passionate about making science both accessible and fun to kids from age one to ninety-two. As a past Neuroethics Fellow in the Center for Neuroscience & Society at the University of Pennsylvania, she is also interested in the neurological foundations of moral cognition and the ethical, legal and societal implications of neuroscience research.
