About Teaching and CourseSource

I am a postdoctoral associate in the Department of Biology Teaching and Learning at the University of Minnesota. I currently conduct educational research in undergraduate biology classrooms. My research focuses on developing an instructional intervention that supports students in integrating quantitative thinking skills with science process skills by focusing on the concept of variation during a biological investigation. I am also working to develop and implement a professional development program that prepares teaching assistants to facilitate student-driven lessons.

I have taught introductory biology in a large enrollment setting during my graduate and postdoctoral appointments, and I continually strive to improve my pedagogical practices. CourseSource is an excellent resource for educators that are constantly looking to improve or change their lessons and teaching, and I am excited to contribute to this important work!
