Melissa Dancy is a principal research associate in the evaluation center at Western Michigan University. She has a Ph.D. in Physics specializing in physics education research from North Carolina State University. Her research has focused on understanding how and why STEM faculty teach and in supporting reforms to encourage research-informed teaching. Additionally, much of her research has focused on issues of race and gender equity in STEM. She has taught undergraduate-level physics at a variety of institutions ranging from small liberal arts to major research universities.
