About Teaching and CourseSource

Iglika Pavlova is an Academic Professional at the University of North Carolina Greensboro and has served as a biology faculty for 19 years. Dr. Pavlova centers her teaching practice on creating inclusive learning environments and developing evidence-based materials in diverse areas of biology, ranging from introductory biology to genetics, evolution, immunology, and infectious disease. She is a discipline-based education researcher (DBER) in the areas of high-impact practices including course-based research experiences (CURE), diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), and scientific reasoning. Dr. Pavlova was the administrative, education, and research leader on the NSF/CUR Transformations Project for the UNC Greensboro site to scaffold CURE across the curriculum. She is actively involved in leadership and service, with a focus on providing instructor training toward improved implementation of DEI curriculum and pedagogy in STEM courses.

I am excited to serve CourseSource as an Academic Editor to bring a variety of innovative learning modules to a wider audience. I especially value CourseSource articles for their emphasis on a clear, direct writing style with descriptions that help instructors implement the activities so that they can “come to life” in the classroom.
