About Teaching and CourseSource

Jaime Sabel is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Memphis. Her research focuses on biology education: specifically, how students learn biology and the tools we can create to better support them in reaching understanding of complex concepts. At the undergraduate level, she teaches General Biology I (majors), a Synthetic Biology Course-Based Undergraduate Research Experience (CURE) Lab, and both leads and teaches the course associated with the Learning Assistant (LA) Program. At the graduate level, she teaches College Biology Teaching, which is required for all graduate students, and Advanced College Biology Teaching which she developed particularly for graduate students who intend to enter academia.
