The BioGraphI RCN is committed to fostering an inclusive environment that is free from discrimination and oppression. We know that this is a lofty goal that will take intentional hard work, unpacking, and self-reflection from all of us in the community, and we are willing to do this work together. We invite individuals within our community to critique our actions and systems so that we can collaborate to better serve this mission. We acknowledge that many groups have been disproportionately underrepresented in higher education because of different barriers that are ingrained into our systems, and we believe that having diverse scientists only benefits the world. Scientists are people, and we are shaped by our life experiences, which influences our research interests and practices. Together, our project is dedicated to learning, teaching, and serving society through supporting all learners and educators.
