Description

Both scenarios are analyzed in a series of exercises. The mathematics used is simply the Newton's Law of Cooling differential equation, with possible modification for an active heat source, and basic integration.

A computer algebra system can be helpful, but is not essential.

This project can be done in class, or perhaps better yet, started in class as part of a homework assignment.
