Abstract

Resource Image We build on a model for the height of a falling column of water with a small hole in the container at the bottom of the column of water. We use data from one video of a falling column of water.

Description

We set the students to analyzing two further situations. First, we add a constant or varying amount of water to the cylinder over time and seek to revise the model. Second, we add a constant or varying amount of water with salt in it and and seek to determine the amount of salt in the column of water over time.
