Writing Workshop at the SOT Annual Meeting for Preparing Educational Articles for CourseSource

Workshop at the SOT Annual Meeting for Preparing Educational Articles for CourseSource

Joshua Gray, Course Editor for Toxicology

Do you have a fantastic lesson related to toxicology that you'd like to share with fellow educators or an idea for a lesson that you'd like to pitch and get feedback on before digging deeper? The Society of Toxicology is hosting a CourseSource workshop at the 2022 Annual Meeting in San Diego. The workshop "Publishing Education Toxicology Exercises in CourseSource: A Step-by-Step Workshop for Preparing Your Manuscript" will be Monday, March 28th from 1:45 pm-4:30 pm in the San Diego Convention Center. Anyone registered for the meeting may access the live-streamed and recorded session.

The workshop will kick off with CourseSource Managing Editor Erin Vinson who will describe the online journal, SOT's undergraduate toxicology learning framework, and how to create manuscripts from ideation to completion. Next, three SOT members (Josh Gray, Lauren Aleksunes, and Mindy Reynolds) who've submitted their own manuscripts to CourseSource will discuss their authorship experience and a bit about these lessons. For the remainder of the workshop, participants will spend time crafting their lessons and getting feedback from their peers and the speakers as they work. Make sure to bring your notebook or personal computer for the best possible experience.

Whether you have a new idea that you want to toss around with colleagues or have a well-tuned exercise that you've been using for years, this workshop will help you develop your idea and prepare it for submission to CourseSource. The course you're using the lesson in doesn't need to be Toxicology, so long as it is using Learning Objectives from the Undergraduate Toxicology Learning Framework. Let us know if you are planning on attending by completing this form.

The Society of Toxicology is excited to host this first-ever writing workshop for CourseSource!
