Applying a Traditional Asian Medicine approach of utilizing plant extracts in a mixture resulted in cancer cell death while normal cells thrived. Utilizing a large dataset of proteins identified as differentially expressed between treated and untreated cancer cells and comparing it to treated and untreated normal cells, we observed specific differences in mitochondrial function. One of the main objectives of this group is to explore potential differences in mitochondrial function in cancer cells that might lend itself to attack by the extract components and present these using different 3-d media approaches.
