    • multiple options for communication to provide input (written, verbal, virtual, face to face)
    • setting expectations of being a listener and  being open to new ideas 

    Autonomy:

    • developing what works at your institution - flexibility in the model and identity 
    • freedom to do trial and error and developing knowledge 

    Solidarity:

    • Use your voice to advocate for others in the partnership
    • Establishing opportunities for check-in/feedback
    • Unstructured opportunities for communication

    Participation:

    • Establish norms/expectations from beginning
