Public Description
NEWT (Network Exploring Wildlife Trade) is a new undergraduate research network supported through the National Science Foundation RCN-UBE. This RCN intends to build the capacity of undergraduate faculty to engage students in authentic research experiences related to the increasingly relevant topic of wildlife trade. The incubator effort, starting in 2021, will engage approximately 25 undergraduate faculty in biology from across the country and from various types of academic institutions. NEWT's Steering Committee is comprised of an interdisciplinary team of experts in biology, ecology, conservation, social science, criminology, policy, and educational assessment.
