Biography
My name is Kelly Ann Gull, and I am a seasoned program and event manager with a passion for improving science education and encouraging women in STEM fields.
I’ve spent 20 years developing educational and professional development services for students, postdoctoral scientists and early-career and experienced faculty.
I excel in program development and management and receive great satisfaction in taking a vision that has literally been sketched on cocktail napkin and then turning that aspiration into a robust and successful enterprise.
I am a skilled manager who is always looking for opportunities to collaborate across departmental boundaries within a non-profit organization with the goal of making the entire organization successful. Working with association members is a fulfilling partnership to me as well. This alliance allows volunteers to provide scientific and educational expertise while I organize and communicate this content to members of the science education community for their validation, adoption and the fostering of their own professional development.
Innovation is essential to me! I always use evaluation to inform and enhance programs and I'm not afraid to throw something out that's not working. I am considered to be an “early adopter” of technology, software and social media tools and am often looked to internally and externally for guidance and insights into ways to streamline processes and for strategies for building community. I make a point to keep up with trends and national reports in my field and enthusiastically share what I have learned with my colleagues.
In all, I try to instill a sense of purpose and satisfaction working within my immediate team while aligning tasks and programs with programmatic, departmental and association-wide strategic missions and objectives.
