  • Biography

I am a Ph.D. candidate in Genetics and Molecular Biology at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. My research concerns the regulation and function of survival of motor neuron protein and the ways in which this influences the neuromuscular disorder, Spinal muscular atrophy. In addition to conducting research, I have completed a teaching certificate and am pursuing college teaching opportunities.  I also participate in science outreach activities, where I interact with people of all ages and backgrounds regarding science topics of interest. Finally, I am involved with science writing and editing in both technical and informal avenues.
