2022 Hackathon- iCn3D for Education (janhackicn3d)
Project by group antibodyengineering
About
iCn3D ("I see in 3D") provides a powerful web-based tool to not also teach students at all levels about antibody structure and function but also presents a tool in which students can use to research antibody-epitope interactions. It allows for visualization in 3D, 2D, and 1D. Our group worked to develop methods in which iCn3D can be used in educational activities.
- High School (NGSS aligned)/Freshman/Community College/Lower level college courses
- Venn Diagrams to identify similar structures in various animal antibodies
- iCn3D images showing Van der Waal interactions that are present in SARS-CoV-2 and spike protein
- Upper level courses (possible CUREs)
- Investigate same antibody with different epitopes attached at same location. Using iCn3D can find common interactions in the interface and identify key amino acids.
