Lowering the Activation Energy: Making Quantitative Biology more Accessible
Category: | Seminar |
---|---|
Description: | Biology requires a rapidly expanding set of quantitative skills including data analysis and management, statistics, modeling, computational reasoning, and visualization. If you are interested in developing your biology students' quantitative skills, this is the summer workshop for you! Join us for the National Academies/HHMI Summer Institute on Quantitative Biology, presented by QUBES, BioQUEST and the Science Case Network. This professional development experience will combine a week long workshop with virtual collaboration on the QUBESHub. Developed by BioQUEST, which celebrates 30 years of leadership in biology education reform in 2016, this workshop will provide participants the opportunity to interact with experienced leaders in effective teaching, learn about new resources, and work with peers to develop effective classroom practices. Science Case Network will bring a focus on using case based pedagogies to enhance student success in quantitative biology. Participants will interact virtually on QUBESHub after the Summer Institute to support one another in implementing new methods and materials in the classroom. We welcome individuals or teams of faculty from all institution types and disciplines to this event. |
