Summary:
This short activity introduces a discussion of reproducibility in scientific research and ways that we might address these ideas with undergraduates. There is an opportunity to use a prototype version of Serenity to explore BIRDD data.

Description

This 30 minute large group activity is designed to introduce reproducibility as an important and emerging practice in science. The group work takes advantage of a Shiny app called Serenity that runs in a browser, allows students to work with R based analysis and visualization tools, and submit their work as a reproducible package. This prototype activity is built around a Galapagos Finch morphological dataset with over 7,000 individuals that was published as part of the BIRDD Project

There is a discussion forum where you are encouraged to ask questions, share ideas for how to use these materials and make them better.
