Water researcher Jess Goddard holds a PhD from UC Berkeley (2019), where she co-developed metrics for water affordability in the state’s first comprehensive human right to water tracking tool. Her research interests include water access and environmental justice, water quality and water systems, environmental health, and ecological economics. Jess currently oversees research and data science as the Chief Science Officer of SimpleLab, a Berkeley-based environmental testing start-up.
