Very informative Powerpoint about Gray Seal populations, but it's clearly based in a historical science sense and doesn't look as much into the future as it could. Excellent example of how history and ecological science, and even politics and law can be merged together.

It should also be noted that the powerpoint is accessed by downloading with a button on the website at roughly the same place as on the QUBES site (I didn't notice it at first glance).

As a mathematical biology student who has studied ecology lessons before, I find these PowerPoint slides to be primarily focussed on the history of the Grey Seal population rather than the outcomes in years to come.  The history of the case was well defined and presented in an organized way: starting with the characteristics of an individual grey seal, then the description of the Marine Mammal Protection Act, to the effects of an increased grey seal population.  The language of the slides was clear and precise; keeping the wording strictly for information purposes. The inclusion of graphs and and statistics allows a reader to visually see the growing slopes (rate of reduction in fish consumption per year).

The PowerPoint offered very little quotes/suggestions from ecologists or specialized environmentalists about a possible solution to this problem.  Being a person who has not dealt directly with case studies, it is hard for me to think of original  recommendations; a better tactic would be to provide a serious of suggestions from professionals and have students eliminate or acknowledge what is incorrect about the solutions they provided.  This would allow a student to use deductive skills along with prior knowledge about the case study and ecology concepts.
