Biography
Dr. Tyrell Carr is an assistant professor in the Department of Biological & Physical Sciences at Saint Augustine’s University (Raleigh, North Carolina). Carr teaches courses in general biology, environmental science and biochemistry. He also mentors undergraduates in RNA metabolism research and plant – environment interactions research using integrated approaches in the molecular and data sciences. To further build research capacities and for retooling purposes, Carr has participated in collaborative studies at Iowa State University, Michigan State University, University of Missouri – Columbia and Duke University. Overall, these research experiences have been highly beneficial. Currently, Carr is supported by the National Science Foundation to examine the functional role of cofactor / metabolite capped-RNAs in plants.
