Biography
I joined Wake Forest Biology in 1998, and was told I had a 2-year appointment. That temporary job has lasted nearly 25 years. For most of that I directed the introductory biology labs program, overseeing 24 GTAs each semester in up to 6 courses. Besides teaching courses ranging from non-majors gen-ed to graduate, I found time to work on grant-funded scholarly projects to make biology more accessible for undergraduates, and to improve undergraduate science writing training.
