  • Biography
    Dra. María Elena Báez Flores was borne in Sinaloa, México. She completed his D. Sc. in 2009 at the Center for Food and Development Research. María Elena completed BS degree at the Autonomous University of Sinaloa (AUS), where since 2009 to date she is Full-time Professor at the School of Chemical, and Biological Sciences. Her research interests are in the areas of Genomics and Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR), Molecular Microbiology, AMR in the Environment, as well as Microbiome and Metagenomics. Dra. Báez-Flores has authored or co-authored more than 35 publications on AMR. At the Autonomous University of Sinaloa, she has developed the “Microbial Genomics” and “Air Quality” research lines. As product of her research work, she has uploaded thousands of microbial genomic sequences in the NCBI. Her grants have been funded by the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT, by its acronym in Spanish) and the AUS. She is reviewer for the Journals of Global Antimicrobial Research (JGAR) and the International Journal of Environmental and Health Research (IJEHR), among others. Dra. Báez-Flores is member of the American Society of Microbiology and the World Aquaculture Society. She is awarded as National Investigator (National System of Researchers, by CONACYT) since 2016 to date. Also, she received the PRODEP profile award (Teacher Professional Development Program from the Secretariat of Public Education), and the Stimulus to Teaching Performance Award (AUS). Dra. Báez-Flores present her work at national and international congresses.
