Description

This template guides BioGraphI Faculty Mentoring Network participants through the process of constructing a BioGraphI module. BioGraphI modules address data literacy while fostering diversity in undergraduate biology classrooms. They are lessons about graph and data interpretation, featuring the scientific contributions of biologists who are members of historically excluded groups (HEGs). They include video interviews with these biologists, allowing students to hear directly from HEGs about their discoveries.

The template guides curriculum developers through the backwards design of their BioGraphI lesson, beginning with learning objectives, followed by assessments, then classroom activities. It contains instructions for curriculum developers on how to fill out the guide and includes a section that highlights how the lesson aligns with Universal Design of Learning principles.
