Budgeting for the Workshop

Scholars are expected to participate for the entirety of the BSTD program by participating virtually on QUBES and attending the face-to-face workshop of their cohort. Applicants should budget accordingly and are encouraged to seek funding from their disciplinary departments, teaching and learning centers, professional societies, and other agencies.

Registration Fees

Once accepted into the program, prospective Scholars will be required to pay the registration fee to confirm their participation; this will cover all program materials. Applicants who are not members of the American Society for Microbiology are encouraged to join to receive a discount on the registration fee.

ASM member registration fee: $499
Nonmember registration fee: $599

Travel Costs

Participants must budget and arrange their own airfare, hotel reservations, and any other transportation to attend the in-person workshop at the Embassy Suites Boston at Logan Airport, in Boston, MA.

Cancellation Policy

The deadline for canceling participation in the program and requesting a registration refund is May 15th. A refund minus a $100 processing fee will be issued for all cancellations received by the May 15th immediately preceding the workshop. No refunds will be granted after that date. All cancellations must be received in writing to the address below:
