This is a list of the requirements of this Faculty Mentoring Network (FMN). You must complete each of these items in order to receive the OCELOTS Learning Innovation Certificate. Detailed instructions for sharing final products will be distributed in mid-May but an overview of the expectations has been shared below.

  1. Be an active participant for the entirety of the network
  2. Present your draft of the adapted OCELOTS module during a one-hour-long virtual workshop for friendly peer review
  3. Revise your adapted module, hosted on the Gala platform (https://www.learngala.com/)
  4. Share a synopsis of your adapted module on QUBES

Be an active participant for the entirety of the network

To accomplish this goal, you must:

  • Attend all of your working group meetings
  • Post responses to assignment prompts in the forum
  • Post a reflection of your adapted module in the forum

Adapt an existing OCELOTS module

You may adapt a small portion of a module, or the whole thing. It is highly recommended that you work in teams of 2-5 participants, comprised of the lead author and mentors/collaborators with expertise in areas such as active learning methods, media, and data tools. The lead author will identify in advance the areas in which they seek collaboration. If you have a question, please don't hesitate to ask one of your group leaders.

Share your final products on the Gala platform and a brief description on QUBES Hub

Your adapted module will be hosted on the Gala platform. This online module can include various teaching materials (teacher notes, curriculum materials, assessments, etc.). We also ask that you share your module adapter story with the community on the QUBES Hub site. More detailed instructions on this process will be posted in late May.

We understand that scheduling meetings for a group of very busy faculty participants is difficult. If you have an unexpected conflict and are unable to attend a meeting, please let your group leaders know in advance.
