• Biography

  I’m a comparative and ecological physiologist. My research foci are physiological adaptations to naturally-occurring environmental stressors, strategies to increase the proportion of historically underrepresented students who engage in research, and the development of cyberlearning tools for undergraduate physiology instruction. I teach cellular & systems physiology, integrative biomedical sciences, and the cell biology and animal form & function sections of general biology. At UF, I direct the X-Laboratory Program, the Bioscience Scholars Program, the SF2UF Bridge to the Baccalaureate Program, and the MARC GatorSTAR program.
