3D modeling: Using the Protein Data Bank

The RCSB Protein Data Bank provides access to 3D structures of biological macromolecules (proteins, DNA, RNA and their various complexes), along with tools and resources for their visualization, exploration, analysis, and comparison. The presentation on Monday (Jul 24, 2017) will focus on the double helical model of DNA - how was this determined? what does it tell us about the functions of DNA and molecules that interact with it? how has it helped us design new  molecules?

An accompanying exercise guides you through hands-on exploration of data from the RCSB PDBusing the UCSF Chimera software. Explore the PDB-101 website for a variety of educational materials related to protein structures. Also check out the curricular modules available for use.
